Who are we?
Barryland and the Barry Foundation
Barryland Theme Park
Barryland is a pioneering project funded by the Barry Foundation, which works to protect, breed and promote St. Bernard dogs.
Completed in just under two years, this theme park welcomes you to modern, spacious and completely refurbished surroundings, offering you an immersive experience entirely dedicated to St. Bernard dogs. Replacing the old museum established in an old arsenal, it is a breath of fresh air for the foundation and the public. Thanks to its new infrastructures, Barryland Theme Park can now double its visitor capacity and fully cater to the growing interest of the public visiting from Switzerland and across the world.

The Barry Foundation
Since January 2005, the Barry Foundation has managed the kennels and the breeding of the famous St. Bernard dogs, previously in the hands of the Congregation of Canons of the Great Saint Bernard.
As a non-profit organisation, the foundation is committed to continuing more than 300 years of breeding tradition in its original region. (Link to the foundation) Its main mission is to offer its dogs a healthy, balanced life in line with their specific needs. Moreover, the foundation aims to spread the joy that these iconic dogs provide by encouraging a wide public to come and meet them. This is why it created the Barryland Theme Park: to allow the public and the St. Bernards to meet.

Who is Barry?
Barry I lived at the Great Saint Bernard Hospice from 1800 to 1812. To this day, he is the most famous of all the rescue dogs. He is said to have saved over 40 people by himself.
His story, a jumble of true facts, myths and legends, has spread around the world and is still part of the reason why St. Bernard dogs have an exceptional reputation. For generations, these dogs have accompanied travellers and, in particular, provided assistance to those lost in the snow or fog in the mountain trails.

Donations
As a public interest organisation, the Barry Foundation does not receive any state funding and relies solely on the generosity of private donors. These donations help fund breeding, ensure the welfare of the dogs and develop social assistance activities.
If you would like to help protect and promote the legendary breeding of the St. Bernard dogs, there are several options available:
Make a donation
Fund several projects, daily activities, care of the dogs and help protect the famous breeding of the St. Bernards.

Leave an inheritance or a bequest
You can include the Barry Foundation in your will and leave a meaningful legacy when you’re gone.
Our priority

Individual care, a wide range of activities and wide open spaces: we at the Barry Foundation do our utmost to ensure the welfare of the dogs. The approx. 30 resident St. Bernards enjoy tailored care, play, walks and a wide range of daily activities according to their needs and talents: sleigh-pulling, social dog, finding objects, intelligence games, balancing acts, mobility or even hikes. A professional and competent team ensures that the dogs are physically and mentally thriving on a daily basis. With many years of experience, the Barry Foundation is today known for the quality of its breeding, which has been Certodog® certified since 2008.
Theme park partners

We are proud to count Cornèrcard as the main sponsor of Barryland. This partnership is in line with the Cornèr Group’s desire to create unique experiences using innovative payment solutions and lasting relationships based on trust.

We are delighted to have Domaines Rouvinez as one of the sponsors of Barryland. Driven by a shared passion for excellence and a deep attachment to Valais’s heritage, the Rouvinez family established Cuvée Barry. An exclusive selection of three wines captures the spirit of this collaboration: red, white and barrel-matured blend.
