Snowy days
All of the photographs shown in this exhibition were taken in the Valais Alps and convey the beauty and emotion of the depths of winter.
Winter is a hard season for the mountain fauna. In order to survive, natural selection has caused these high-altitude inhabitants to adapt in ingenious ways. The ultimate goal is to conserve energy and survive.
It takes patience, passion and humility to encounter and photograph these species. Being attentive, listening to nature, is an infinite source of joy. Capturing and sharing these emotional moments brings them to life. What could be more wonderful than bringing to life what you love?!
“Snowy days” is a window into the ingenuity and aestheticism of life.
Sébastien Tinguely

A trained biologist and naturalist born in 1972, Sébastien Tinguely has been a self-taught photographer for more than 15 years.
He has always been fascinated by animals and their surroundings, and shares his outlook on the living world around us through his photographs.
Taking an ethical approach, his photography never interferes with the environment. His ventures into nature are all about discovery, observation and reflection; and sometimes a photograph. As he likes to remind us, photography should serve nature, not the other way round.
Through his exhibitions in French-speaking Switzerland (Salanfe, Cabane des Dix, MAG 2019) and popular science articles in the French-language press, Sébastien Tinguely shares his perspective on life where science and beauty meet.
